SHAWN

Well I seen where the Morgan Lucas team has selected Shawn Langdon to be the driver of the second Lucas Oil T/F dragster for 2009. I was really hoping they would look at and pick Hillary Will for their driver, but, oh well. I am still pulling for her and you should too. Go Girl. Still the 2009 season should be a great one. Especially in Funny Car and Pro Stock I would think. These two classes are so close it is hard to tell who will win in either of these classes. I mean, last year, Tony Schumacher just set sail and took it all in T/F. He just ran away with everything. With Alan Johnson gone to form his own team with Larry Dixon as his driver, this is going to shake things up a bit, I think. So many new teams, and teams that only run a few races a year now pledging to run all of 09, man, It is going to be exciting. Hopefully, J.R. Todd and Hillary Will can be involved too. As you can tell, I am a big Hillary Will Fan. I've met her numerous times and even got her to talk to my sister, Camille, on my cell phone last year in Memphis. Camille is still talking about that moment and she is now one of the biggest NHRA fans in North Mississippi area. She got to go with us to the Night of Fire show on Nov. 1st, 2008, and got to watch a wheel standing schoo bus and a couple of Jet Cars along with some local racers and some Pro Mods and she still talks about that today. She will be going with us to the October Memphis NHRA race for the full 3 days and I hope that Hillary is there so she could meet her. (although her favorite is Tony Schumacher) but she loves Hillary just as much. We can all just hope that she can get a ride. And lets not forget about our Cajun Sister, Angelle Sampey. A champion like her, someone has got to put her on a bike. I only got to meet her once, at Memphis, 08, and she truly remembered me when I mentioned that I was at a parade in her grandmothers hometown of Gheens, La. I, too her, are the Missplaced Cajun. Speaking of parades, Mardi Gras is coming up in February, the 24th, to be exact. I plan on being there. I will be leaving on the 19th and coming back on the 25th, (need that day to recoup) and hopefully, I will run into Angelle at the Gheens parade. I hope to see a lot of people that I know that live down that way. I know I will have a good time, no a great time, while I am there. Crawfish, Roast Beef Po-Boys, Beads, Beer. Crabs, maybe a fishing trip to the Gulf, Good times, and Good Friends. More on that later, until then, keep hoping for Hillary, J.R., and Angelle and that they will be there to fight for their right to be #1 in their classes that they run in. They are all Champions in my book. Hope to see them and you at the races...Thank You, later Jeff...............

LONG COLD WEEKEND

That's just what it's been. Thursday night low of around 8 and all day Friday only into the 20's. Friday back to about 12 and not above freezing on Saturday. Finally the wind shifted to the south and a little warm up for Sunday, not too bad. Robin and Brian came by Saturday and brought a lot of can goods for me to get rid of for them. Gave some to my Daughter, and the rest to my sister.
While they were here, we discussed our trip to the NHRA race coming up in October. Already planning it. No need to wait till the last minute. HA. I need to start looking for a camper to pull to the races. Me and Brian said we would go in halves to get one, and that would work for me. We may even start hitting the Atlanta race and then a few NASCAR races too. We already been to a couple of Taladega races and sleeping on the ground gets kinda old. We found a great camping spot for the Memphis race at Shelby State Park, about 12 miles from the track. Real clean camp spots, security at all hours of the day and night and real quiet after 10 p.m. We plan on going back there but hopefully with a camper this time. O.K. Still not sure what Hillary Will is going to do this year. I've been searching the net for any information on her and I can't find anything yet. I sent her a question on her NHRA Driver Blog yesterday and hopefully I'll get a response. I seen where Mogan Lucas was to announce a driver for his second Lucas Oil Car but have seen nothing on that either. Keep your fingers crossed. Later, Jeff..........

IT'S COLD!!!!

Brrrrrr. Its cold. Here it is on a thursday night and the temp. is about 17. Got home with a brand new bottle of propane, hooked it up, turned on the bottle, and the darn regulator had a hole in it. No, not tonight, the coldest night in 5 years!! I made a few phone calls to see if anyone had a regulator i could borrow for the night and finally found one. My nephew, Patrick, had 4 of them. Thank you so much, Bud. It was 48 inside my home when I got here and now at 10:30, it is finally 72 inside the house. Feels so much better......AHHHHHH. Have y0u been checking out NHRA.com? Almost ready for racing. Although, my heart is heavy. In Hillary Wills blog, she said that she is pouting and sad cause, "I don't know if or when I will drive in a Top Fuel car again". The one person that I pull for the most and she may not even drive in 2009. I have hope though. Morgan Lucas will be driving his car this year and I guess J.R. Todd is out of the second Lucas Oil car and he say's that the driver of the second car will be released later. I hope he say's that it would be Hillary. Come on Morgan..........Gotta let the girl race. You know she can do it and with her as your teammate, Ya'll could end up 1st and 2nd in the points for 2009. You got the equipment and the backing and the talent to get this done and she does too. She proved this in 2008, and 2007, and 2006 in her rookie year. You two are the next generation of the NHRA. If you read this, take this into consideration, PLEASE......Don't let such a talent as Hillary sit on the sidelines..........Sincerely, Jeff(a.k.a. hillwillwin)

BAD NEWS, GOOD NEWS

Well, the good news first. Today is my daughters birthday (Clairie) as she is turning 27 today, and she thinks that she is not gonna have a party or anything, but, It is set up for tonight at my house for 8 o'clock. Her husband is gonna drive her out here thinking they are just dropping off their son, Nathaniel, but we will all be here to say Surprise. It's gonna be great. Can't wait till 8. On the bad news side, I read Hillary Wills blog last night and it don't sound like she even has a ride for the 2009 Full Throtle season. Her crew chief, Jim O. is moving over to Doug Kalitta's team but only for the first two races of the new year and then who knows what will happen then. His sponsor Mac Tools have left and he has no major sponsor. I am devestated. There is still time for Hillary to get a ride and I am praying that she does. Please, someone pick her up for the new year............

NEW YEAR

Here it is a new year. So far, so good. Well, up until last night. More on that later. Being this is a race related blog, to start off with, I finally got conformation from my sister, Camille, that she is for sure going to go with us to the Memphis race in October. Can't wait to get her there so she can actually meet some of her hero's. I know she will have a blast.. don't want to wish time away, but October will get here when it gets here. Well, I had company for the New Year from last Thursday until Saturday night. We all had a great time. Good food, Good company, and family. Saturday night they were getting ready to go back to Louisiana and I had my sister's and their husbands over and we rode 4 wheelers, and the Gators on the trails for a few hours and everything was going great, until a certain person showed up. (No names right now) He knows who he is. As soon as he got here everyone had to leave. First, Bobby and Camille, then my Louisiana company, and then B.C. and Johnnie. Me and that guy then went into my house and he was Loud and Obnoxious as ever. When he asked me about moving back to Louisiana and going back to operating cranes(to make a long story short) He told me I wasn't man enough to that again. Came into my house and told me I wasn't man enough!!!I promptly gave him a cussing and told him to leave. He left but not until he busted a beer bottle on my front porch. It is still there to remind me not to let him back to my house. Hopefully, good ridens. No more on him though. other than that I had a great weekend. Hope you did too without the 1 asswipe to show up. Go to an NHRA event to have a great time. You won't regret it. LATER, JEFF
